Five Healthy Holiday Desserts

Healthy Holiday Desserts Cover

It’s that time of year again when we’re surrounded by tempting treats almost everywhere we look. Many of you will be traveling to visit family or will have relatives visiting you, along with office parties and dinner with friends.

While there is nothing wrong with indulging and having a slice of pumpkin pie or a cookie or two, these little indulgences can really add up over the next month or two.

That one slice of pie or extra cookie multiplied by the number of dinner or other events you attend, can really start increasing the number on the scale. Before you know it, you’ll be hitting the gym in January trying to undo all the fun you had.

This year, why not offer to bring an extra—and healthy—dessert to your next party. This way you know there will be at least one good choice. So go ahead and have the pumpkin pie, but then choose a healthy cookie later.

Here are a few of my favorite healthy treats that make me feel like I’m indulging without the guilt.

Serving Size 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 Frozen Banana, slightly thawed
  • 1-2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • For crunch you can add Cocoa Nibs

In a food processor add banana and blend until almost smooth, add Cocoa Powder and Nibs (if using) and blend until the consistency of Ice Cream.

If you don’t like chocolate, you can use berries instead!

Spending the weekend with family? Ever microwaved a cake? This Mug Cake is great for breakfast, so why not offer to make everyone their own in the morning. It’s another amazing recipe courtesy of Tone It Up.
